We had worked in the banking industry for several years developing a strong knowledge of what banking was all about. Over the years of working in local banks, we began to see a need to create a company expressly designed to handle mortgages. At that time we had 23 years of combined banking experience. In January of 1983 we created Kittredge Associates Incorporated. Together, we offer a service specialized in mortgage banking. Local banks could offer customers a mortgage, but they failed to offer clients a wide range of mortgage options. Typically the same person who cashed the customers' pay check was also the person who processed their mortgage. We saw a need to create a higher standard in the mortgage industry. As a result, Kittredge Associates Incorporated was born.

Later that year, Kittredge Associates was licensed as a lender with the Vermont Department of Banking. At that time there were 23 Licensed Lenders in the State of Vermont. Today there are over 600 Licensed Lenders in Vermont. Oddly enough, of the original 23 in 1983, only Kittredge Associates survived.

In September of 1988 Kittredge Associates was renamed Kittredge Mortgage Corporation.

Our first office was opened at 123 Bonnet Street in Manchester, Vermont. Today, the Manchester office serves as the main office where we process, underwrite and prepare closings. We close loans in or out of our office, whichever is more convenient for our clients. A Kittredge Mortgage representative always attends closings, free of charge, whether at or away from our office. We feel we owe this courtesy to our clients. During the mortgage process the clients must trust us and work closely with us. Our attending closings allows us to say thank you for choosing us as your lender.

In February of 1989, the South Burlington office was opened at 23 Patchen Road. The South Burlington office has the same capabilities as the Manchester office. They work independently processing, underwriting and closing their loans. This office is managed by our son Keith P. Kittredge. Keith was instrumental in opening the office and has a strong position in the marketplace.

Kittredge Mortgage Corporation holds a Lenders License in Vermont. We finance one to four family homes, condominiums and planned unit developments. The properties may be primary homes, vacation homes or investment properties.

Kittredge Mortgage Corporation has always been adaptable to change. We have rolled with the punches that the mortgage banking industry has dealt over the years.
